DHS Info about Individualized PCA Training and Certifications
The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) requires all Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to complete specific training to ensure they are prepared to provide quality care. This training is also essential for the upcoming transition to Community First Services and Supports (CFSS).
Training Requirements:

For PCAs Certified After April 15, 2020:

If you completed training and received a certificate titled "PCA and CFSS Support Worker Training," no further action is needed.

For PCAs Certified Before April 15, 2020:

If your certificate is titled "Personal Care Assistant Training," you must complete the updated training to align with CFSS standards.

To ensure uninterrupted service reimbursement under CFSS, it's recommended to complete the training by June 1, 2024.

The training is available online and free of charge.
